How to add your wallet to Freighter

Adding your wallet to Freighter:

Navigate to the Freighter website:

• Visit the Freighter website at “https://www.freighter.app/”.

• Go to your browser’s extension store and search for “Freighter” or go to “Chrome Web Store".

  

Download and install Freighter:

• If you chose the website method, click on the “Download Freighter” button. This will redirect you to the appropriate extension store for your browser.

• If you used the extension store, search for “Freighter” in the search results and click “Add to Chrome” (or a similar option for your browser).

Freighter Wallet Login:

• After installing the extension, the Freighter Wallet login page will automatically open.

Select the “Import” option:

• This tutorial focuses on adding an existing Stellar wallet.

• On the login page, you will see two buttons, “Create” (to create a new wallet) and “Import” (to import an existing one).

• Click on the “Import” button.

  

Entering a recovery phrase:

• A new window will appear asking you to enter your Stellar wallet recovery phrase.

• This is the all-important 12 (or 24) word passphrase you mentioned earlier.

  

Setting a new password:

• Below the recovery phrase section is a field to create a new password. This password will be used specifically to access your wallet in Freighter.

• Choose a strong and unique password for optimal security.

Confirmation and Success:

• After entering your recovery phrase and password, click the “Import” button. Freighter will process your information.

• After a successful import, you will see a confirmation message that your wallet has been successfully added to Freighter.

  

Congratulations!!! You have now added your existing Stellar wallet to Freighter.
