How to Create a new wallet 🛠️

This guide outlines the process of creating a Stellar wallet on Scopuly

1. Accessing Scopuly:

  • Click on the “Create Wallet” button.

2. Setting Up Your Wallet:

  • Read the warning message carefully. It emphasizes the responsibility of users for securing their private keys and assets. Click “Create Wallet” only after understanding the terms.

  • Create a strong password and enter an optional wallet name. Choose a unique and complex password for enhanced security

  • Memorize and securely store your 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is essential for recovering your wallet if you lose your device or password. Never share this phrase with anyone, including Scopuly support.

  • Write down the recovery phrase on a physical piece of paper and store it in a safe location.

  • You can also download the phrase as a text file. However, ensure this file is securely stored and encrypted if necessary.

3. Verifying Your Recovery Phrase:

  • In the “Let’s check your Recovery Phrase” window, enter the 24 words separated by spaces exactly as you wrote them down or copied.

  • Click “Check Phrase” to verify you have correctly stored your recovery phrase.

4. Accepting the Disclaimer:

  • Carefully review the disclaimer. It clarifies that Scopuly is not responsible for lost funds due to user negligence.

  • Click “I accept the terms” only if you understand and agree to the terms outlined in the disclaimer.

5. Accessing Your Wallet:

  • Upon successful verification and acceptance of the disclaimer, you will see your newly created wallet.

  • You will be provided with:

  • Public Key (Wallet Address): This is the address you share to receive Stellar Lumens (XLM) and other assets.

  • Secret Key: This key allows you to recover your wallet if you lose your 24-word recovery phrase. Treat this key with utmost security and never share it with anyone.

  • Federation Name (Optional): This is a user-friendly alternative to your public key, making it easier to read and share.

6. Securing Your Wallet:

  • Before using your wallet for any transactions, ensure all recovery data is securely stored and backed up.

  • Remember, losing your recovery phrase or private key will result in permanent loss of access to your wallet and its assets.

7. Accessing Your Wallet Interface:

  • Click “Go to wallet” to access your newly created Stellar wallet on Scopuly and begin exploring the platform’s features.

    Congratulations! You have now created a Stellar wallet on Scopuly.
